OLY-2014-SNOWBOARD-CROSS-MEN-MEDALS

My latest Huffington Post article, An Olympian’s Happiness is No Different From Yours, posted yesterday afternoon, so I wanted to share the link here on the blog.

Hope you all are having a bronze-medal day!

  1. As a writer who will publish as soon as I finish this book, I have been given the modern world: the great gift of deciding when I am ready.

In the past this would have been the bronze medal – or the brass ring – good luck getting an agent/editor/publisher.

Now I will get the bronze medal when I decide I’ve put in enough effort. And then if it sells – silver might be conferred by the marketplace, or even gold. But I will be ecstatic because I CAN achieve the bronze.

It is interesting about the athletes who get bronze instead of nothing. But when all three medal places are condensed into ‘yes’ vs. ‘no,’ there is still an enormous amount of happiness to go around – I intend to share mine.
